Fall Canon SD780 Dump
A few snaps from activities this past fall captured with one of my point-and-shoots, the Canon SD780 IS.
Fall Trail Run at Fishburn Park
There's almost no excuse for not carrying this small point-and-shoot since it takes up about as much space as a Clif bar and fits perfectly in a pocket. IĀ carried it on many of my trail runs this past fall and here are a few pics from those activities.
Fall Trail Run at Happy Hollow
On another trail run, this camera ended up in my running vest along with it's Joby Gorilla Pod mini-tripod companion. The leaves were definitely popping and I think this little camera did a good job capturing them.
Late Autumn Backpacking in Uwharrie
The first time I brought this camera along on a backpacking trip. I really enjoy its small form factor while running so why not bring it along for backpacking? It's nice to have this as a companion to my smartphone for photos.
I derive a great deal of pleasure in the process of documenting and then reliving my outdoor adventures. Using a small point-and-shoot to capture moments along the way is somehow more fun than using a smartphone and definitely beats lugging around a DSLR. It's probably the limitations of the technology that make it fun but more likely, it's the nostalgia factor. These cameras fit perfectly in a running vest or a backpack's hip belt pocket and serve the purpose of documenting quite easily and are a throwback to when times were more simple.
Here's a similar post with photos from my Canon G9. One day, I'll get around to adding tags to my blog so all of these things can be grouped together programatically.
